Somnolent

Somnolent: Sleepy or tending to cause sleep. "Somnolent" came from French. It descends from the Latin "somnus" meaning "sleep." Also descended from "somnus" are "somnambulism" (sleepwalking) and "insomnia" (the inability to sleep.)
