RLQ: Abbreviation for the right lower quadrant (quarter) of the abdomen. The RLQ of the abdomen contains the appendix.

(By contrast, RUQ stands for the right upper quadrant, LUQ stands for the left upper quadrant, and LLQ stands for the left lower quadrant.)
